When the invitation arrived from Mayfair Collective to attend the pre-opening of Gordon Ramsay’s 100th restaurant, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar at 22 Bishopsgate, I said yes immediately. There was no hesitation and zero self-control. And honestly, it was the best decision.

After a swift security check in the lobby, I was whisked into a lift that shot up so fast (under 60 seconds to floor 59) where altitude and anticipation collided, my ears giving a delicate pop as I rose. In a world where everything moves fast, this was one of those rare moments where time felt heightened rather than rushed. I stepped out, recovered my dignity (barely), and walked straight into Bread Street Kitchen… and wow. Just wow. My jaw did a dramatic cartoon drop.

The space is HUGE. Imagine pink glass chandeliers glowing as if they’re auditioning for a Hollywood movie, and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing London as if the city itself were flexing for the occasion. The decor is chic and minimalist, allowing the real star of the show to shine: those absolutely ridiculous skyline views. The kind that makes you pause, take a breath, and actually sit with the moment. Even the London weather decided to cooperate for once, providing sunshine, blue skies, and perfect timing.

Opened on the 6th of May 2026, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar sits 269 metres above the city, marking a monumental milestone for Gordon Ramsay Restaurants as its 100th restaurant worldwide. Following the success of Lucky Cat at the same location, which I visited in 2025, this new opening cements the group’s already impressive presence at 22 Bishopsgate. The project even features in the new Being Gordon Ramsay, which lends the experience a surreal, “I’ve seen this on screen, but now I’m actually here” moment.

Bread Street Kitchen & Bar is essentially the “glow-up” version of the original St Paul’s restaurant from 2011. With 250 seats across the dining and bar areas, it possesses a lively, buzzing energy that transitions effortlessly from sophisticated daytime brunch vibes to late-night drinks. The menu itself carries that classic Gordon energy: comforting, bold, slightly dramatic, and utterly delicious. But more than that, it reflects something else: the evolution of time. Years of refinement, iteration, and mastery condensed into each dish.

Guests can expect favourites like the legendary GFC, now featuring a fully house-made signature sauce, and the iconic Idiot Sandwich (yes, it’s very much real, featuring beef brisket, cheddar, mushroom, and tomato chutney. It is chaos in the best possible way). Then, of course, there is the ever-famous Beef Wellington, now served high above London like a culinary trophy.

Beyond the classics, there are over 30 new dishes to explore, including Wagyu meatballs, lobster and prawn toast, chicken and caviar nuggets, and stone bass crudo. It is, quite simply, everything you didn’t know you needed at 59 floors up. For those seeking a moment to slow down, the Afternoon Tea starts from £55 per person and offers a playful twist on tradition with roasted chicken sandwiches and the adorable Gordon Wagon Wheel. The indulgence continues through to the desserts, with the signature Sticky Toffee Pudding and the BSK Sundae, featuring fig leaf ice cream and miso caramel.

The cocktail list is just as spirited, with highlights including the Wuthering Heights, a moody but sweet blend of rum and passion fruit, and the Hot Honey & Tangerine Margarita, which is essentially sunshine in a glass with a touch of attitude. The bar area keeps things vibrant with live sport across five screens, while evenings bring DJ sets from Thursday to Saturday that run late into the night.

Bread Street Kitchen & Bar isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a full-throttle experience in the sky. With incredible food, unparalleled views, and a vibe that moves from classy to party without warning. And honestly? Watching Gordon Ramsay reach his 100th restaurant while still clearly running the game feels less like speed, and more like longevity. A reminder that true luxury isn’t just about scale, but about what endures over time.

It’s no wonder he’s still at the top.
